Demosaicing, white balance, tone, orientation, and color interpretation all run against the sensor-oriented SRF data before GIF encoding even starts. What comes out is a rendered photograph, never another untouched camera negative. Opening SRF follows an early Sony raw layout and model table; support for current ARW files does not by itself validate this older generation.
