Demosaicing, white balance, tone, orientation, and color interpretation all run against the sensor-oriented 3FR data before JPG encoding even starts. What comes out is a rendered photograph, never another untouched camera negative. The decoder treats the Hasselblad preview as a reference, then develops the underlying sensor mosaic with an explicit camera profile and crop. JPG delivery writes opaque, lossy photographic pixels; quality must be judged around high-contrast edges, gradients, fine texture, orientation, and repeated-encode damage.
