Convert PSD to DOC online and see exactly what artwork placement into document pages changes, what DOC still can't promise, and how to verify the result.
Rendering happens first: PSD artwork becomes a fixed visual, which is then placed inside DOC's page structure. That derivative carries no paragraph structure or editable source objects of its own. PSD import reconstructs the composite plus layer stack, masks, channels, blend modes, effects, text, smart objects, resolution, and color profile. The DOC destination uses the constraints of the legacy binary Word model, including older field, drawing, table, and compatibility behavior.
Starting model: a Photoshop document that can contain layers, masks, channels, type, and adjustment data. Rendered result: the legacy binary Microsoft Word document model.
Used for pixel-based artwork, scans, and photographs.
Designed for editable text documents with styles, headings, and page layout.
Most non-PSD outputs flatten layers, while unsupported smart objects or effects may render differently.
Modern layout features, embedded objects, macros, and fonts may shift when the binary document is rebuilt.
the legacy binary Microsoft Word document model is what gets written, labeled as application/msword. Whether that actually opens depends on the receiving application, not on the file extension.
DOC makes sense once PSD needs to travel as a page - Review, printing, document exchange. If the artwork still needs pixel- or path-level edits, keep an image or vector master instead.
Open the result in the intended editor and inspect layer count, masks, typography, blend modes, and canvas size.
Compare page breaks, tables, headers, footnotes, and tracked changes in Word or a compatible editor.
