Convert MOV to PSP Video online. See the real timed-stream transcoding behavior, preservation limits, and a format-specific acceptance test.
Converter.now decodes the picture, sound, and timing streams carried by MOV, then writes the codec and container profile used for PSP Video. Duration can remain identical while compression, channel mapping, frame cadence, metadata, or auxiliary streams change. QuickTime MOV input uses atom-based track and sample tables, including edit lists, rotation, color labels, timecode, chapters, and auxiliary media.
Decoded from a QuickTime container written here with H.264 video and AAC audio. Encoded to a fixed-profile MP4 (H.264 video, AAC-LC audio) preset sized for the PlayStation Portable's native screen resolution and narrow codec support.
Used for editing and Apple-oriented video workflows.
Designed for recorded motion video with an accompanying soundtrack.
MOV support varies outside Apple and editing software, while source captions or extra tracks may not be retained.
Because the PSP only decodes specific codec/profile and container combinations (H.264 Baseline Profile on all firmware, or Main Profile with CABAC on firmware 3.30 and later, inside MP4; or Motion JPEG inside AVI), a video that is merely renamed or repackaged into MP4 or AVI without re-encoding to a PSP-compatible codec, profile, and resolution may fail to play or display incorrectly on the device.
The output is always normalized to MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio at a fixed profile rather than being tuned to a specific PSP firmware version; that matters because the PSP's screen is a fixed 480x272 pixels and its H.264 support depends on firmware level, with Main Profile and CABAC only decodable on firmware 3.30 or later — codecs the PSP was never built to decode, such as HEVC, DivX, or Xvid, will not play regardless of container.
Scrub the timeline and verify frame size, frame rate, audio sync, color, and target-app playback.
Copy the converted MP4 to the PSP's VIDEO folder over USB and confirm it appears in the PSP's built-in video player and plays at the device's native 480x272 resolution without a corrupted or blank screen.
Switch to PSP Video only once the destination player, editor, or service has confirmed support for its exact container and codecs. If extra tracks or the original encoding must survive, MOV remains the safer choice.
