Free TS to MP4 conversion online, with the real timed-stream transcoding behavior, what gets lost, and a concrete way to check the output.
Converter.now decodes the picture, sound, and timing streams carried by TS, then writes the codec and container profile used for MP4. Duration can remain identical while compression, channel mapping, frame cadence, metadata, or auxiliary streams change. Transport-stream input is synchronized on packets, then program maps, discontinuities, timestamps, language tracks, captions, and elementary codecs are inventoried. MP4 output organizes tracks around web-friendly sample timing and fast-start playback; captions, chapters, rotation, and any auxiliary streams remain separate preservation decisions.
Decoded from an MPEG transport stream using fixed packets for resilient broadcast and streaming delivery. Encoded to a broadly supported MPEG-4 container written here with H.264 video and AAC audio when those streams exist.
Used for moving images, timed audio, and playback metadata.
Designed for widely compatible web and device video.
A TS can carry several programs, audio languages, captions, and discontinuities that a primary-stream conversion leaves behind.
An audio-only source does not gain pictures, and ancillary streams such as captions may not carry over.
The MP4 profile that has been verified writes H.264 video at CRF 23 alongside AAC audio at 192 kbit/s, with fast-start metadata for web playback.
Select the intended program and verify codecs, frame rate, interlacing, audio language, captions, timestamps, duration, and sync.
Test playback, seeking, audio sync, dimensions, and whether the expected video stream actually exists.
Confirm the receiving player, editor, or publishing service actually names MP4's container and codecs before switching; stay with TS if extra tracks or original encoding need to survive intact.
