Decoding OGA recovers the waveform and channel layout it carries; writing AAC means re-expressing that under a different codec and container profile. Duration commonly survives untouched even while compression, channel mapping, cadence, metadata, or auxiliary streams do not. OGA is demultiplexed into Ogg packets and identified as Vorbis, Opus, FLAC, or another audio mapping before granule timing and comments are applied. An AAC elementary-stream result carries coded audio frames without the richer tags, chapters, artwork, and track metadata of an M4A container.
