Free M2TS to FLAC conversion online, with the real audio-stream extraction behavior, what gets lost, and a concrete way to check the output.
Converter.now selects the audio stream in M2TS, leaves the picture stream out, and encodes that sound as FLAC. The result is audio, not a silent copy of the video. M2TS demultiplexing removes Blu-ray-style packet prefixes, reconstructs program timing, and inventories video, language tracks, subtitles, and other transport-stream programs. FLAC output losslessly codes decoded samples and supports rich comments, yet it cannot reconstruct fidelity already removed by a lossy source codec.
Decoded media - A Blu-ray and AVCHD-oriented MPEG-2 transport stream using 192-byte packet framing. Encoded delivery profile - Losslessly compressed audio that preserves decoded samples and supports rich tags.
Used for moving images, timed audio, and playback metadata.
Designed for lossless music archiving.
Extra audio, subtitle, chapter, and timing streams can be omitted by a single-stream conversion.
FLAC does not make a lossy source lossless again, and some basic players reject less common sample rates or channel layouts.
The verified FLAC profile uses lossless compression level 8; it preserves decoded samples rather than source codec data.
Inspect packet and stream structure, video codec, frame rate, interlacing, audio languages, subtitles, duration, and sync.
Compare duration, sample rate, channels, peak levels, and tags with the decoded source.
Take this route when only dialogue, music, or a soundtrack needs to reach a FLAC-accepting system; hold onto M2TS whenever its pictures, captions, or visual timing still matter.
