ALAC audio is what actually exists here, and it gets encoded straight into a MOV media container. No artwork or motion is invented, so the resulting MOV file can carry no meaningful video stream at all. ALAC arrives as losslessly coded Apple audio whose frame configuration, channel layout, sample depth, timing, and MP4-family tags are decoded independently. MOV delivery uses QuickTime track and sample structures suited to Apple and editing workflows, with codec, color, time-scale, chapter, and cross-platform support checked separately.
